The Story Behind Really Awesome Factory

Sometimes, the best ideas come from unexpected moments. The name Really Awesome Factory was born out of a casual conversation with a friend who runs a car sales business. At the time, I was developing several automation workflows to streamline his operations, including a process that helped him source cars based on customer requirements.

As I continued rolling out solutions that simplified and optimized different aspects of his business, he stopped and said:
“Wow, you’re like a really awesome factory!”

The phrase stuck with me. It perfectly described what I was doing—creating powerful automation solutions, improving processes, and helping businesses operate more efficiently.

I realized that so many businesses could benefit from automation and AI-driven solutions, but many didn’t know where to start.

What started as a side project for friends and family quickly evolved into a broader mission: bringing automation and AI-driven solutions to businesses of all sizes.

And so, Really Awesome Factory was born—where we design, build, and implement smart solutions that help businesses work smarter, automate repetitive tasks, and integrate AI seamlessly.

Two Decades in IT and Software Solutions

I’ve been in the IT industry for over 20 years, working on everything from business process automation to software development. In my latest role as a director of a software house, I work with large companies, helping them improve their business through technology.

A big part of my job is:

  • Understanding business challenges and designing solutions to solve them.
  • Moving companies away from slow, manual processes and digitizing workflows.
  • Implementing automation to improve efficiency and cut down on unnecessary work.
  • Overseeing software and product development to ensure quality.
  • Leading the development of a mobile app with over 10,000 users, which became a key tool for many businesses.

Over the years, I have seen the impact automation can have. It isn’t just about making things faster—it’s about making businesses work better.

Automation Before It Was Cool

Before AI became as mainstream as it is today, I was already building automation solutions for my own business and my wife’s business. We ran e-commerce stores selling on platforms like eBay and Amazon, and I developed systems to:

  • Automate supplier orders, so we never ran out of stock.
  • Update inventory and pricing without manual input.
  • Streamline order processing, so we could focus on growth instead of admin work.
  • Invoice & Packing list printing, no one wants to sit at a printer for 2 hours every morning!

At the time, there weren’t many ready-made automation tools like there are now. So, I built solutions from scratch that helped us stay competitive. Looking back, it’s clear that automation made a huge difference—it saved us time, reduced mistakes, and allowed us to scale in ways we never could have managed manually.

From Side Projects to a Full Business

Outside of my main job, I always enjoyed helping friends, family, and business associates find ways to make their work easier. Whether it was setting up automated workflows, integrating AI tools, or just fixing broken processes, I found myself creating solutions for people who needed them.

Now, I’ve taken that experience and turned it into a business. Really Awesome Factory is all about helping businesses work smarter—whether that’s through automation, AI, or process improvements.

We focus on making technology accessible and practical for businesses of all sizes. No overcomplicated systems, no confusing jargon—just solutions that actually make life easier.

What We Do

At Really Awesome Factory, we help businesses:

  • Automate repetitive tasks so they can focus on what really matters.
  • Streamline workflows to cut down on wasted time and effort.
  • Integrate AI tools that actually work, without the frustration.
  • Move away from outdated processes and into a more efficient way of working.

I’ve seen firsthand how automation and AI can transform businesses, and I want to help others experience the same. If you’ve ever thought about automating part of your business but weren’t sure where to start, let’s have a chat.
